Gary Valenciano, or popularly called Gary V. by Filipinos, is one of the most recognized artists in the Philippines. He is a veteran in the Philippine music industry, having started out in the early 1980’s as guest performer in various talk and variety shows. Aside from being an accomplished singer, Gary Valenciano is also an experienced actor and music producer among others. He is also one of the most sought after endorsers in the country.
Gary Valenciano, whose real name is Edgardo Jose Martin Valenciano, was born in August 6, 1964 to a Filipino father of Bicolano descent and a Puerto Rican mother. Music has always been in Gary’s blood, as his mother was an accomplished opera singer.
Gary V is married to his manager Maria Anna Elizabeth Pangilinan or more popularly known as Angeli Pangilinan. They have three children: Juan Pablo Martin, Jose Angelo Gabriel and Kristiana Maria Mikaela. His two sons seem to be following his footsteps, regularly dancing in television programs and alongside Gary V in many commercials.
Gary Valenciano is also known for his work outside of show business, more popularly for his work in diabetes awareness (being a diabetic himself), serving as a role model as to how the condition can be managed effectively. A UNICEF national ambassador since 1998, Gary V is also a devout Christian who has produced many popular songs related to his faith.
